Job Summary:

This position has the responsibility of providing assistance to the Member, Contact Center Agents and Pharmacy Services Associates for medication and prescription specific questions under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Assist Pharmacists to provide patient counseling and compliance to OBRA 90 mandates. Communicates with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Management, Client Advocates, Prescribers, Patients and client representatives concerning clarification or resolution of client and or patient issues. Support the growth of PRC patient outreach programs.


Responsibilities:

•Processes telephone calls to and from members and prescribers in accordance with published departmental standards.

•Communicate via telephone effectively with members and prescribers in a polite, professional, and accurate manner.

•Assist in calls regarding non-clinical information which may include prescription quantities, refills, substitution indicators, and prescriber information.

•Assist Pharmacists to provide OBRA Counseling.

•Create counseling or corrective action records or communication to the appropriate co-workers or management.

•Communicate and document Alleged External Errors and PHI disclosures in the computer system and to the appropriate persons. Must handle in a professional and confidential basis.

•Follow proper procedures for accurate, timely, and detailed documentation of all communication with members, pharmacists and prescribers.

•Complete knowledge of pharmacy computer system and prescription workflow.

•Meet and or exceed departmental employee performance standards.

•Other duties as assigned by the management team.



Basic Qualifications:

•High school diploma or equivalent

•Current CPhT licensed in the state of Texas

•Strong knowledge of PC and MS programs required



Preferred Qualifications:

•1 – 2 years experience in Customer Service and/or Mail Pharmacy processes, preferred

•Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

•Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others

•Ability to work in a fast paced customer service environment with proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks

•Solid focus on customer service, quality and accuracy

•Strong professional ethics and standards

•Ability to work a Flexible Schedule
