PRN - Psychologist

The Psychologist provides direct patient care and is responsible for monitoring and delivering high quality services to patients with co-occurring disorders. Primary responsibilities include: Assessment and documentation of clinical needs; consulting with clinical treatment team regarding diagnoses and treatment approaches; implementing and delivering individual, group, and family therapeutic and educational services; crisis intervention; full participation with the multidisciplinary team toward meeting a patient’s treatment plan objectives. Clinical documentation of all interventions and interpretations is required.

The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must have strong competence in clinical functioning, and the ability to interpret historical and current data for the purpose of diagnosing patients and developing treatment plans.

Job Requirements:
Doctorate (Psy.D or Ph.D) in psychology from an accredited college/university

Minimum two (2) years experience in chemical dependency and or co-occurring disorder treatment setting

Licensure/Certification: PA licensed psychologist or PA license eligible

Must possess knowledge of co-occurring disorder treatment approaches, group counseling processes, age-specific patient issues limit setting and behavioral management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques, knowledge of PA State licensing and JCAHO standards; excellent communication skills; computer literate

Environmental Conditions:
Professional office environment; exposure to patients with co-occurring disorders who may potentially exhibit violent or aggressive behavior; potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/bodily fluids

Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; physical agility to manage patients; push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds; intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping; drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
