Position Description

PROCESS DEVELOPMENT CHEMIST (POST-DOC)

Noramco, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Process Development Chemist (Post-Doc), located in Athens, GA.
Noramco, Inc. produces a variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients and is a major worldwide producer of medicinal analgesics, pharmaceutical intermediates and synthetic fine organic chemicals. It also produces monomers and polymers for pharmaceutical and medical devices.
Conduct process research and development in diverse range of chemical development projects that seek to maintain or improve manufacturing costs, yields, quality and/or capacity, as well as evaluate new business opportunities. Responsibilities include: Plan, perform and report laboratory work in support of developing new processes, technology transfers, and improving existing processes; Development and performance of laboratory/pilot experimental design; Collection of experimental data, data interpretation and report generation; Presentation of results and conclusions to colleagues, management and project teams; Participation in team efforts and collaborations with colleagues on process and analytical efforts; Familiarity with analytical methods and instrumentation; Evaluating new raw material sources to ensure adequate performance in production; Conduct troubleshooting of plant processes to resolve production or quality problems; Assistance to others in use or troubleshooting of laboratory equipment; Upkeep of laboratory instrumentation, equipment and facilities; Adherence to and promotion of company standards regarding conduct, housekeeping, safety and quality.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in organic chemistry or related field, with 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
