The Foundry, a Headwaters Company, is the leading designer and producer of specialty building products.   We manufacture uniquely designed Cedar Shake style vinyl siding and accessories.  Further, we also manufacture an innovative product line of exterior cellular PVC trim and corners.   All products are plastics and are manufactured via extrusion.  We are currently seeking a 3rd shift Process Technician.

Since the plant is an extrusion facility, the candidate will need extensive extrusion experience.  This is a must and a pre-requisite for the applicant.  Very few applicants will be considered without extrusion experience. 

In addition to extensive extrusion experience the applicant will need to have leadership skills as they will be working in a group setting and will be responsible for conducting one-on-one and group training on procedures, quality, equipment, the process, etc. to our hourly staff.  Therefore communication skills are a must.  Another necessary part of the job will entail troubleshooting equipment, such as extruders, grinders, color feeders, slitters, punch presses and etc. 

The qualified candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.  They will need to have a basic working knowledge of a computer and any additional computing skills will be a plus.  At minimum, the candidate needs to be proficient with Excel, Access, Word and Outlook.  They will need to be able to document test results clearly and definitively.   They should be reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated and able to motivate others.  Any knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles is a bonus.  As previously mentioned extrusion experience is a must.
