Product Manager – CPG
Major
Technical Consumer Packaged Goods Leader is looking for very strong PM for
newly formed, high-level product group.
Very high visibility and future growth potential.
Responsible for leading the development, planning, positioning and launching
activities of assigned product(s) of CPG leader, and providing input into the
forecasting and successful procurement of product. Collaborates with Product Leadership Team,
Marketing Communications, and Sales.
Must have successful strategic marketing and full product lifecycle experience managing CPG products.

Job Responsibilities
Product Development
· Provides input into
the development of product road maps for assigned product(s) of major technical
consumer products company. Monitor product development process.
· Makes
recommendations for meeting market needs to product management team.
· Conducts and
analyzes market information and provides interpretation.
Product Management
· Works closely with
Marketing Communications, Documentation, Service/Support, Logistics, and other
groups to manage the product throughout its lifecycle.
· Provides input into
positioning and pricing of assigned product(s).
· With some guidance,
establishes structured processes for a complete product launch for assigned
product(s).
· Collaborates with
sales and logistics organizations to optimize product forecast and product
procurement.
· Provides input into
key advertising and promotions tactics for assigned product(s).
· Manages end of
product lifecycle and transition to minimize inventory and ensure launch time
frames are met.
· Serves as internal
and external PR spokesperson for assigned product(s).
· Supports the company
at events, including sales meetings and trade shows.
· Supports the sales
team in customer visits and presentations.
· Conducts competitive
analysis and benchmarking for assigned product(s).
· Initiates and
maintains relationships with industry trade groups, analysts, and publications.
Requirements
· Min 5 years of
direct line Product Management experience (exp. managing consumer packaged
goods is ideal). Consumer Packaged Goods and/or Technical company backgrounds
preferred.
· Product management
experience, including launch, product roadmap, full lifecycle management and competitive analysis
· Strong knowledge and
experience of U.S. and Canadian consumer market preferred
· Strong marketing
analysis, and strategic planning, including experience with AC Nielsen, NPD or
other data sources
· Project management,
marketing communications and strategic planning experience in all key marketing
touchpoints (price, promo, place and product)
· Ability to sell
ideas well through creative & innovative cohesive presentations
· Excellent
communication skills which includes presentations to executive management and
key accounts
· Ability to travel up
to 35% of time (domestically and internationally)
· Completion of a
bachelor’s degree or equivalent (B.A. or B.S.) -
·
MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from top “B” School, highly preferred
