JOICO, a dynamic and fast-growing hair care brand in the professional beauty industry, seeks a Production Coordinator to work in our Creative Department at our Los Angeles area office.  If you have a passion for design and creativity, coupled with the beauty industry, this may be the job you have been looking for!

The Production Coordinator helps expedite and oversee all creative projects (advertising, promotion and packaging).  Principle objectives also include the routing and trafficking of projects, in addition to securing approvals and overseeing timing of deadlines for all printed materials.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Routes layouts to secure approvals and sends artwork to printer.  Uploads final container art to internal software.
• Coordinates review of press proofs with designers and returns proofs to printers/vendors, once reviewed.
• Assists in determining priority of projects to meet printing deadlines.
• Follows-up on all projects daily to assure compliance with established schedules.
• Assists in maintaining project status grids/lists.  Updates container art information on internal project tracking software.
• Assists as liaison between internal departments and outside vendors to expedite projects.
• Assists in interacting with all departments to obtain pertinent information.
• Attends meetings to keep informed of deadlines and project status.
• Assists in coordinating projects with designers.
• Assists in creating spec sheets and submitting for vendor quotes, and onward through final production process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4-year college degree preferred.
• 2 years experience in Creative Project Trafficking.
• Graphic Design background a plus.
• Extremely organized, detail-oriented with good follow-up and communications skills.
• Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines.
• Computer proficiency in Word (Mac), Excel (Mac), Mac OS X Operating System, Microsoft Entourage, Adobe, Acrobat Professional, FTP software, Stuffit, Bar Code Pro, plus basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and project management software.  All Creative software is Mac-based.
