SUMMARY:
Responsible for all phases of packaging line production, supervise and coordinate activities of packaging operators. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment in the packaging warehouse, production areas, and surrounding areas. Effectively manage, train, develop, and evaluate department staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
o Plan work schedule to be performed during a given day or week, by several employees within their area of responsibility.
o Effectively supervise Packaging Line employees.
o Possess good working knowledge of all standard operating procedures (SOP's) performed by the Packaging Line Operators, including CIP and pasteurization.
o Ability to operate packaging line machinery.
o Observe machinery operation to detect malfunctions and report problems to maintenance for repair.
o Ensure product is packaged according to specification.
o Inspect work of Packaging Line Operators to ensure completeness and compliance with specifications.
o Good working knowledge and practice of company safety policies and procedures.
o Assure all work areas are clean and orderly.
o Document all employee reports and prepare all necessary paperwork including accident reports and check timecards.
o Complete production reports as required.
o Perform employee performance evaluation reports for Assistant Line Supervisor and Packaging Operators.
o Schedule vacation time and special working hours for Packaging Line Operators.
o Ability to communicate effectively with management team.
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, WORK AIDS:
Packaging operations equipment, personal computer.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work activity takes place in a packaging facility. Exposure to noise, vibration, fumes, and operating equipment with temperature variation depending on work areas.
