Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas. Provides subject matter expertise in areas including project management, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on professional knowledge and background. Makes presentations to management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures projects are completed on time and in scope. The PROJECT Portfolio Manager, Clinical Toolbox will lead and manage the intake and scheduling of Clinical Project requests across the Enterprise for the Clinical Domain. The Portfolio Manager will work with and maintain partnerships with the Toolbox PMO, Toolbox Program teams, IT Demand Management, Segment Leads and various Portfolio Leads across the Enterprise. Responsibilities include: 1. Clinical Intake Management - Coordinate and triage the intake of all Clinical requests - Ensure all project requests meet intake requirements ie. Business justification, business value, metrics, etc.. - Facilitate and assign required solutioning efforts - Manage High Priority Business requests through the IT Estimation Process - Lead/Drive Clinical Business Request presentations working sessions/meetings - Lead/Drive request intake issues through to resolution 2. Release Planning across the Clinical Domain - Lead/Manage the overall planning and execution of the Release Planning process - Partner with IT on all release planning efforts ie. Capacity planning, softbooking, hardbooking, etc.. - Communicate all Release Planning activities and schedules - Lead/Drive prioritization / ranking activities w/Segments across the Enterprise - Drive estimating process with IT to obtain necessary estimates for Release Planning - Lead/Drive Business Requirement Development Timelines and Status to meet required IT Release Planning Calendar 3. Resource Planning / Tracking - Lead and Manage overall Resource planning/tracking for the Clinical Toolbox - Align Resource plans to Capital plan to ensure appropriate funding exists - Lead and manage the Resource Allocation process across Toolbox Team - Analyze, report and escalate resource shortages or overages - Report on overall resource utilization highlighting opportunities for improvement 4. Capital/Financial Planning - Coordinate and support with Clinical Toolbox Finance team the ongoing capital forecasting process - Manage requests for funding approval of all PROMPT estimates / lockdowns for Clinical work - Collect and assess Capital Forecasts by Funding Pool Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed. - Works with less structured, more complex issues. - Serves as a resource to others. - BA/BS degree
- 5+ years project management experience required preferrably in a clinical/healthcare/managed care environment
- 5+ years experience with project portfolio tracking, demand management, change Management and release management
- Demonstrated ability to gather project request at intake phase and prioritize in conjuntion with IT
- Drive for results
- Demonstrated ability to present and facilitate project porfolio status and ensure control and escaluate issues in an appropriate manner
- Demonstrated ability to pull together the right resources from a diverse group of functional teams (i.e. IT, business lines, nurses, etc)
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships and collaborate across the enterprise
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead discussions between diverse groups
- Moderate/Advanced skills with MS products, WORD, EXCEL etc.
- Demonstrated ability to review data and to extrapolate data for business reports and Sr. Executive reporting
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
