Packaging Production Artist

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Artist to join our team on 2nd shift. This position will perform complex packaging keylining using desktop software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Review job ticket instructions to determine requirements of job production.
• Participate in planning meetings when necessary.
• Using appropriate software applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark, and CS suites including Indesign) perform electronic keylining functions preparing files for Digital production.
• Proof output (HP inkjets or Color Lasers).
• Build client mock-ups of final files using appropriate substrates.
• QC all work performed following the department SOP’s. Check, sign-off, and date checklists.
• Update the schedulers & Customer Service regarding job status.
• Make sure all jobs and materials are properly charged.
• When handing off jobs to co-workers, clearly communicate any information for them to complete the job.
• Work OT when required.
• Attend departmental meetings when required or requested.
• Assist in the development of written procedures as new clients and projects are added.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
• Trade school certificate in Graphic Arts/Printing or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 3 years experience using Illustrator, Photoshop (CS Suite) and Quark producing electronic keylines in a prepress environment.
• A minimum of 3 years experience performing complex packaging keylining is required.
