The Packaging department operates six high speed lines producing both laundry and home care products. The department runs three shifts to meet business needs. The Packaging Technician Line Leader is a union bargaining unit position and overtime is required, sometimes up to 60 hours per week. There is a 120 probationary period. The successful packaging technician line leader must be able to operate, maintain and troubleshoot high speed packaging equipment while maintaining quality and safety standards and must be able to make minor mechanical fixes on the equipment. Must consistently share, demonstrate, uphold and adhere to standards such as safety, quality, housekeeping and teamwork.



What we offer

The technician at this level will be able to provide leadership and direction to crew members to optimize line results and improve their skill levels; must be able to plan for and allocate resources and implement systems including changeovers, centerlines, shift changes and breaks. 
Must be able to complete changeovers with expected reliability, and direct business and people flow. 
Must have good communication skills with all levels of the organization to ensure that tasks are properly assigned and resources are effectively allocated to run the daily operations.
Must be able to prepare for and lead daily tie-in meetings; facilitate problem solving and conduct monthly shift meetings.


Who we are looking for

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills (communications, teamwork, problem solving, decision making)
Must be able to make simple calculations, be able to use a computer and be able to be trained in Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. from floor to shoulder height.
Must be able to wear a respirator and other PPE as required.
