Job Title: -- Painter


Job Summary: -- Reports to Trades Manager or Project Manager and supports key initiatives to ensure the effective, efficient, and timely delivery and fulfillment of account customers. Preforms preparation of surfaces to be painted by scraping, sanding, wiping, cleaning, skimming, and spot priming. Protects adjacent surfaces and then applies a variety of coatings to various surfaces for protection or decoration. Duties performed in commercial or light industrial, interior and exterior. Supervises and or directs the activities of sub-contractors associated to the paining operations. Manages material, equipment and rentals as needed to perform and complete projects. Must be open to travel to complete work at several different sites. Painter may also be required to support technicians with part pick up and delivery.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --



  • Protects the surrounding areas from dust, paint splatter, etc.

  • Prepares surfaces for application by removing old paint, patching, smoothing, and sanding. Efficient use of drywall tools.

  • Completes the application of primer when needed, and finish coatings including cut-in, rolling, and spray. Color match is critical. Knowledge of spray equipment or wallcovering a plus.

  • Work from heights -- setup ladders and/or scaffold. Uniform and PPE's with them every shift.



  • Understand written or verbal instructions from supervisor. Speak effectively with customers and associates. Ability to complete accurate and timely paperwork.

  • Assist with part pick-up and delivery or other tasks as assigned by the Regional Manager.


Qualifications: --



  • HS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc), or Specialty Floor Care, preferred.

  • Three to five years work experience in commercial painting.

  • Manlift certification (will train).
