The Parachute Rigging Technician ensures that assembly, rigging, inspection, packing, vacuum sealing, and final closing of parachute systems conforms to all ISO, safety, and government regulatory requirements.

1.       Understands and supports relevant quality system requirements.  Understands and implements jobs in accordance with the company's standard work and quality standards.

2.       Works in compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety rules, and housekeeping requirements at all times.

3.       Maintains strict attention to detail and quality.  Performs self-inspection to ensure product meets requirements as noted in drawing and route card work instructions.  Identifies and maintains product and lot number integrity.

4.       Assembles, rigs, inspects, packs, vacuum seals, and final closes parachute systems.

5.       Maintains company forms/documentation and government regulatory documentation as required.

6.       Operates hydraulic press.

7.       Reads vacuum gauge.

8.       Operates heat-sealing equipment.

9.       Operates automatic parachute ripcord tester and cocking fixture.

10.   Maintains and uses calibrated tools.  Observes tool control requirements at all times.

11.   Responsible to inspect and pack various life support equipment including survival kit bag, parachute hardware, and vacuum-sealing life raft assembly.

12.   Performs verification inspections.

13.   Performs both major and minor repairs on parachute systems.

14.   Assists with training as required.  Provides instruction to new loft personnel for assembly, rigging, inspection, packing, vacuum sealing, and final closing of parachute systems.

15.   Assists with workload planning and materials request.

~Licensed FAA Rigger. 
Note: FAA Master Rigger Certification is desired but not required.

~Completion of High School or equivalent.

~Effective English comprehension and communication skills.

~Ability to interpret technical data.

~Knowledge of sewing machines and hand tools.

~Problem solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.

~Minimum three (3) years experience as certified rigger.

   Note:  Minimum ten (10) years experience as certified Master Rigger.
