LifeMed Alaska ground services is searching for a paramedic. LifeMed Alaska is the state's premier provider of ALS Ground and Air Medical transportation. LifeMed Alaska routinely transports patients from rural Alaska to tertiary care centers across the state as well as major cities in the continental US and internationally. A ground paramedic is responsible for assisting in planning, providing, evaluating and documenting direct patient care including those patients with complex and involved care needs outside the hospital setting. They maintain a safe, therapeutic and organized environment while demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age served and to provide the care needed. All duties and care provided will be performed in accordance with LifeMed Alaska policies. All care delivered during transport will be implemented within the written treatment protocols approved by the medical director or treatment guidelines received from on line medical control.
Education: High school diploma or GED is required. Graduate from an approved paramedic course.
Experience: One year of previous experience in a hospital setting.
Licensure: Must have National Registry EMT Paramedic (NREMT-P) or state Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) license. Current Driver's License, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or Basic Trauma Life Support-Advanced (BTLS-A) or equivalent certification is required. National registry as a paramedic strongly preferred.
