Position Description:

SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, coordinates all tooling, material and GSE resources required by maintenance to assist in providing a quality, safe and on-time project. Maintains a close relationship with the Customer, Purchasing, Receiving and Operations to assist with material movement and status ensuring all concerns are efficiently and professionally resolved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties include the following items:

Pre-Arrival:
• Attend Pre-Dock Meeting 7 days prior to arrival and reports % pre-draw availability & critical parts concerns as required.
• Verify pre-draw is complete and delivered upon aircraft arrival.
• Label new tail numbers on parts rack and tooling rack.

Maintenance In-Work:
• Review Parts Report and/or Customer Report to determine parts status & validates need by date & promise date match.
• Update DAS sheet and/or Project Manager/Business Planner of critical items impacting schedule.
• Attend daily aircraft status meetings.
• Control FOD around the aircraft & parts racks and ensure the entire bay is FOD free and uncluttered.
• Assist Maintenance Leads on all parts and outside services requests as required, to include entering the request, coordinating material movement, and resolving issues.
• Monitors the 24/48/72 hour board to identify tooling, material & GSE requirements and initiates coordination.
• Monitors aircraft work flow via script and Business Planner to prioritize & schedule tooling, material and GSE.
• Assures all 24 hour parts, tooling & GSE are scheduled & delivered on time. If a last minute request is made, the Parts Coordinator may retrieve the equipment and bring plane side (fork lift, scissor lift, man lift and boom lift only)
• Monitors parts report frequently to identify kickbacks & jailed parts for a timely resolution.
• Maintain communication with Ops Support Lead assigned to this customer to ensure priority is given to parts to accommodate aircraft work flow and need by dates.
• Exhaust all options and/or work with Business Planner, Lead & Customer to resolve any kickbacks ensuring priority and need by date are focused on.
• Reviews Tooling Closed MWO report daily for timely coordination of tooling return.
• Coordinates tooling & GSE to be picked up by ensuring they are placed in “pick up” locations and departments are notified for return.
• Assist Ops Support Lead assigned to this customer in expediting priority/AOG parts through the receiving system to ensure part deliveries support aircraft schedules, if needed use heavy D. as support.
• Retrieve “work stoppage” parts from CFE as required – using direct access and material check out tools.
• Coordinate and transfer off-units to Back Shop for repair and routing back to aircraft for reinstallation – Off Unit rack should be cleared at the end of every shift.
• Review Closed MWO report and validate RECAP requirements with Leads to ensure materials are placed in RECAP upon identifying it is no longer required.
• Disposition and return RECAP materials with appropriate documentation and reason for recap – RECAP box should be cleared at the end of every shift.
• Reviews Parts Storage area to confirm parts tags are being complied with, parts are being inspected timely, Unserviceable Rack items are dispositioned and area is organized and clean.
• Complete necessary computer and paperwork transactions, including customer computer entries (if required) and customer tag reviews, to correctly account for material movement.

Delivery:
• Account for all tooling and GSE at completion of each aircraft visit for return or re-issue as required.
• Ensure Unserviceable Rack is cleared upon aircraft departure.
• Ensure Parts Storage Racks are cleared and area is clean for incoming aircraft.
• Ensure Parts Rack is clear for incoming aircraft and all RECAP items are returned.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist Leads in parts research for ordering parts as required and time permits.
• Repair, modify, replace or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in a safe and timely manner when needed.
• Work under limited supervision.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
• Comply with all company, health, safety and environmental rules.
• Be aware of safety information related to the work area, such as identifying unique hazards.
• Wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) to safely perform the assigned duties.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area to prevent safety incidences or accidents.
• Report all safety hazards, incidents, and accidents to the immediate supervision. Assist in resolution when appropriate.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Operate general office equipment including personal computer, fax machine and copy machine.
• General computer knowledge of Windows applications and software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook and Oracle.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written), as well as customer service skills.
• Read, comprehend, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
• Qualified in operating fork lift, scissor lift, man lift and boom lift.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and one year related experience or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Washington State Driver License within Washington State requirements.
• 2 years minimum aircraft experience.
• Airframe and Powerplant License preferred.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and with assistance occasionally lift and/or move greater poundage.

ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate. May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
