Parts Distribution Manager

About the Job

Immediate opening for a Parts Distribution Manager with growing company in NW Georgia! This position will report directly to the President of the company.  Starting position will be as a Parts Manager but the right person will move into the Division Manager position.  Please see job description for complete requirements!  ***This position will offer relocation***

Starting salary is DOE and ranges from 60K-80K per year. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with 5+ years experience as a distribution manager in a warehouse environment.
  • High mechanical aptitude. Kowledge of engines, construction equipment and tractors  is a plus!
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and be attentive to detail; Able Multi-task and prioritize heavy workload.
  • Knowledge of Spare Parts Distribution/Order Processing/Warehouse technology.
  • Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Excel, Access or other similar programs.
  • Experience with AS400 and distribution enterprise software
  • Working knowledge of MRP & DRP
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • International and domestic travel required
  • Knowledge of Warehouse/Distribution technology
  • Previous experience with international locations and customers
  • Knowledge of import export regulations

 

Manage Customer Service, Parts Sales- daily activity

 

Direct all aspects of spare parts distribution; including inventory control, purchasing, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment process, and maintenance of facilities.   Independently develop strategies and tactics for improving operation efficiencies while improving service levels and reducing inventory levels as well as operation costs. Provide leadership and assume responsibility for the functional and financial control of the department including development and management of an annual business plan and budget. 

 

Manage Procurement and Inventory Control

  • Responsible for inventory control and purchasing of spare parts (33,000 SKU’s) maintaining adequate inventory to fulfill customer needs.
  • Negotiate and validate supply agreements with suppliers.
  •  Establish initial stocking levels for new product

 

Warehouse and Distribution

       Negotiate shipping tariff rates with LTL and small package couriers

       Negotiate storage contracts with 3rd party warehouse and

       Negotiate leases for additional warehouse storage

       Recommend capital expenditures for acquisitions for new equipment to increase efficiency and quality service of warehouse.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise 4 direct reports with a total of 27 staff (at current levels) at two locations. Responsible for hiring, training, assigning, monitoring, and assessing work, and annual performance evaluations. Ensure that human resources related decisions are compatible with the organization’s policies, practices.

Approve requests for business travel, time off, budget expenses, expense reports. Establish annual goals and provide on-going feedback and direction to staff with aim at achieving stated goals.

Staff development including training, discipline, motivation, performance evaluations and recruitment.
