We are currently looking to fill the position of Home Medical Equipment Customer Services Representative/Scheduler at our Austin, TX facility, Vital Sleep.

APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS A CERTIFIED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST OR REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate of an accredited RESPIRATORY THERAPY program to learn the process of patient scheduling and insurance verification, while also setting up patients on CPAP/BiPAP devices in a face-to-face setting. Follow-up will require the CSR to maintain compliance with the devices. Position is full-time, day schedule and pay will depend on experience.

JOB SUMMARY

Schedules patients and technicians for sleep diagnostic procedures in the Vital Sleep lab and the Austin area. Also schedules HME set-ups in the Vital Sleep lab. Incumbent must maintain knowledge of procedures and protocols pertaining to diagnostic facility sites and equipment.  Maintain positive relationships with contract facilities and physician’s offices. Work closely with Diagnostic Manager, Billing Representative, and corporate Intake Personnel on a daily basis. Performs the insurance verification process, chart maintenance, patient follow-up, inventory control and other related duties.

 

ESSENTIAL  FUNCTIONS 

  • Intakes orders and information (demographics, H&P, insurance, and signed orders) from referral sources to schedule sleep studies and Home Medical Equipment set-up.
  • Contacts patients for overnight/daytime sleep studies and HME order fulfillment within 24 - 48 hours.  Schedules patients using FastTrack software according to insurance and approved facility for billing. 
  • Monitors's technician work schedule and facility availability to schedule sleep diagnostic patients accordingly. 
  • Performs insurance verifications, acquires additional clinical information and achieves authorizations and/or certifications required to perform all services.
  • Maintains patient charts with all applicable data, chart notes and documentation. 
  • Maintains inventory of HME products.
  • Participates in marketing/public relations-related activities to market Vital Sleep's HME to physicians, referral sources & patients 
  • Displays a sense of urgency and commitment to performing work according to protocol; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness, professionalism and responsibility.
  • Shows persistence with follow-up to achieve desired goals and outcomes.

  • Adheres to the policies and procedures established by LMD/Vital Sleep.
  • Ability to multi-task.  
  • Some travel required.

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS


1.  License:            CRT or RRT Required

                         Valid Texas State Driver’s License


2.  Education:         Associates Degree or Bachelor of Art

 

3.  Experience:       One (1) year of clinical experience in respiratory care or in a medical office required.

 

4.  Skills:               Knowledge and experience in the use of computers & software including: Internet, E-mail,

                              Microsoft Word, Excel. Experience with Medsage, Meditech and FastTrack preferred.

                              Accurate & efficient data entry skills.

                              Positive, professional able to prioritize multiple tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.

                              Strong organization skills.

                              Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

                              Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

                              Ability to work independently on assigned task, as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

                              Collaborative, do-what-it-takes attitude required
