The Outsource Group, a rapidly growing Receivables Management Company is currently seeking a Payroll Administrator to work in our corporate office.  This position is currently located in St. Louis (near Olive and I-270).

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing a multi-state payroll, assisting in the administration of benefits and maintenance of employee records (both electronically and in paper).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and uses audit systems to maintain accuracy and timeliness of employee stored information within the system. Takes the lead in system design, structure and development.
  • Sets up, edits and processes payroll and time records, providing payroll expertise to managers and the administrative support team. 
  • Prepares training materials and trains users as appropriate.
  • Compiles payroll statistics, calculates and manages deductions such as Social Security, withholding taxes, voluntary benefits such as medical or 401(k) contributions, garnishments and levies. 
  • Transmits data for payroll processing, edits payroll for accuracy and finalizes.  Coordinates with payroll vendor to ensure tax deposits, quarterly reports and annual W-2 forms are generated and filed timely.
  • Creates and maintains various payroll reports from all systems involving a variety of employee information. Creates and submits all legally required reports.
  • Keeps abreast on benefits and payroll laws and regulations.
  • Assists with acquisitions and mergers, transitioning payroll and time reporting systems, programs, processes and procedures.
  • May perform other HR related activities as back up.

Requirements:

The Payroll Administrator requires 4 to 6 years experience in multi-state payroll processing plus a solid understanding of payroll related activities.  Working knowledge of Payroll and Human Resources Information Systems with an exposure to report writing software for creating reports (ADP or Ceridian and ReportSmith strongly preferred).  Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations a must.  Exposure to Access or equivalent and Excel.  A Bachelor's Degree or a combination of experience and formal payroll training or certification is required.  We seek a self-starter, capable of moving at a fast pace, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through plus solid communication skills in working with a diverse population.
