About the Job

Planet Fitness Corporate Headquarters in Newington, NH is looking for a Sr. Manager of Digital Marketing and Online Membership to manage and oversee the ongoing growth of online memberships for Planet Fitness and to drive its brand awareness through digital marketing, content creation, and social media. The Senior Manager of Digital Marketing and Online Membership will be responsible for maximizing online membership growth, optimizing the online join process, leveraging digital media to build awareness, cost effective member acquisition and building online buzz. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Leading the development of our digital marketing, digital media, and social media strategy.

  • Increasing online joins via digital marketing and web join process optimization.

  • Directing digital media spend in conjunction with the media buying agency and optimizing CPA metrics.

  • Working with agency partners and brand team to oversee digital marketing and web asset development from concept to execution (website, Facebook, microsites, etc).

  • Oversee content and traffic growth of planetfitness.com and continually improving the join process to optimize the conversion funnel for online joins.

  • Leading agency partners to develop digital/​social media engagement campaigns.

  • Maintaining a best in class localized solution for search engine marketing, Facebook marketing, and digital marketing for corporate clubs and for franchisees to opt in to.

  • Work with PR team and agencies to develop an engagement strategy and campaigns to target bloggers, boards, and other online communities.

  • Overseeing the social media agency and be the direct point of contact on all social initiatives, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest, etc.

    • Managing updates to Planet Fitness App and directing potential future app. development.

    • Provide company-wide insight on emerging trends and online developments as they affect online membership, community engagement, and marketing.




  • 6 - 8 years of experience bringing digital campaigns to life using digital and social media.
  • Hands on experience and proven ability to manage and optimize online sales conversion.​
  • Proven ability to manage digital projects that include, but are not limited to: web asset development, digital campaign orchestration, building a brand's social media presence, community management, web video production, earned media campaigns, Facebook applications and tabs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a strategic plan for building a brand through digital marketing and social media.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a brand team and creative agencies to create integrated online and offline campaigns that deliver brand messages in the digital space.
  • Success in conceptualizing, creating and implementing strategic new media ideas, programs, and campaigns that coordinate with brand’s goals and budgets.
  • A thorough understanding and appreciation for the new media landscape, including social media, consumer web sites, web design, blogs, online advocacy tools, etc and the ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions.
  • High energy and passion for this area of rapid change and innovation.​
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
