Primary Responsibilities: - Process payroll in a high volume multi-state, multi-company PeopleSoft environment
- Research, resolve and communicate complex payroll issues
- Process corrections for tax out of balance situations
- Process Job Data changes as needed
- Respond to inquiries from employees
- Respond to inquiries from benefits vendors or liaisons
- Process Time & Labor corrections as needed
- Monitor direct deposit processing and reject processing
- Performs or participates in special payroll projects requiring research and analysis of payroll
- Assist manager with acquisition initiatives related to payroll and employee integration
- Recognize and adhere to proper segregation of duties, Sarbanes-Oxley controls and internal self audits.
- Knowledge of garnishments, child support, IRS levies etc as administered by vendors or internal staff.
- Knowledge of payroll transactions associated with general accounting principles, union contracts and audit requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.
- Troubleshoot and work with Payroll Team on all Payroll or HR Status related questions
- Support of business initiatives as assigned by manager

Qualifications: - 2-3 years of corporate payroll processing of 3,000 employees or more for a large complex, multi-state company
- Certified Payroll Professional designation is an asset
- 1-2 years of Proficiency with PeopleSoft 8.8, 8.9, 9.0 or PeopleSoft Time & Labor 9.0 within a payroll capacity performing pay lines, batches and corrections to payroll files is required
- 1 - 3 years of exposure or working knowledge in SOX controls
- Must have exposure to performing adjustments to Wage, Hour and Taxation requirements
- 1-2 years of functional experience of Gross to Net Payroll and General Accounting Principles required
- Intermediate - Advanced skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (pivot tables, calculations, graphs, charts, formulas, etc.)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment and manage multiple projects
