Job Title: Payroll Client Support Specialist

Job Summary: Provide client support in relation to Payroll, Human Resource and Benefit administration specific to client needs, system requirements, internal processes, procedures and scope of service level agreement in an HRO capacity.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks: 70% Correctness of Employee and Company Level data through Payroll and HR Processing

 

    • Administers State and U/C taxability
    • Administers all HR/Payroll employee transactions such as new hires terminations, salary changes
    • Administers Health and Welfare allowances
    • Administers Benefit deductions
    • Administers processing/importing of hours for hourly employees
    • Processes garnishments and child support
    • Monitors wages, taxes, deductions and other withholdings
    • Balances each payroll run and reconciles to quarterly and year end tax reports
    • Assists with year end preparation

20% Client Support & Training

    • Assists client problem resolution
    • Provides training to client on procedures, system features and operation of solutions
    • Develops Client Guide, including all processes and procedures specific to client specifications

10% Miscellaneous Tasks

    • Attends and participates in company meetings
    • Provides training and support to new employees and contractors
    • Manages career development and attends training to improve desired skill set

Requirements

    • American Payroll Association’s Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) required.  (can be obtained within first year of employment)
    • American Payroll Association’s Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) desired.  (can be obtained within first year of employment)
    • At least 3 years payroll and/or accounting experience.
    • Experience with automated payroll systems.
    • Knowledge of multistate payroll taxability.
    • Attention to customer service, confidentiality and detail.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills (written and oral) and ability to interface with all levels of client management.
    • Willing to work as a team member.
    • Prior experience with Ceridian a plus.
