The PeopleSoft Database Administrator Manager will ensure PeopleSoft system functions effectively, efficiently and meets need of user community. The PeopleSoft Database Administrator Manager will report to the Interim Associate Vice President of PeopleSoft. Specific responsibilities include:
· Performing performance tuning to ensure efficiency
· Applying updates
· Performing backups and replicating to disaster recovery system
· Managing production issues with development team, functional end users and other IT administrative personnel
· Managing updates to application with Testing team
· Personally spending time with managers and staff to build partnerships and identify PS solutions
· Partnering with business units to determine security needs and fulfill audit requirements
· Overseeing day-to-day PeopleSoft database operations to ensure availability
· Overseeing upgrade tasks for Oracle database and PeopleSoft applications
· Overseeing security setup, policies and procedures
· Overseeing disaster recovery environment to ensure adequate processes in the event of a disaster
· Making recommendations for solutions based on business needs,
· Analyzing situations and issues, recognize strategic implications, and applying both specialized expertise and a broader PS knowledge framework to define problems, priorities and desired outcomes, including cost benefit analysis
Bachelor’s degree in Information System/Computer Science or related field and (5) years progressively
responsible database administration experience with Oracle and PeopleSoft to include (2) years of
supervisory experience. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated ability in
maintaining a database environment 24 x 7. Effective written and oral communications, specifically the
ability to understand complex problems and technical concepts.
