Performance Engineer
About the Job
BASIC PURPOSE:
Create, execute, and analyze automated test scripts to predict system performance. The individual will work closely with business systems analysts and developers to ensure that a product is fully tested and ready for release.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and maintain performance test scripts, test plans, scenarios, and perform testing for MFS applications.
2. Work with MFS developers and clients from initial design specification through implementation, development and maintenance phases to ensure applications meet Performance requirements.
3. Assist in defining MFS standards and ensure that MFS applications adhere to these standards. Communicate those standards to and educates MFS applications staff.
4. Act as project leader on larger quality assurance tasks and consult in resolving problems and issues referred by others.
5. Provide reports to BA and management on project status and communicate unresolved matters to group manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
2. Financial services industry experience preferred.
3. A minimum of four years' software QA experience on applications developed for Windows/UNIX environment with at least 3 years of Performance engineering experience preferred.
4. Go beyond record and playback by using functions along with parameterization and correlation. Scripting experience with multiple protocols (CTLib, Web etc) required.
5. Experience testing .NET and WebSphere applications.
6. Ability to demonstrate a track record of providing technical testing solutions, which include, but not limited to test automation tools (LoadRunner, QuickTest Pro), SQL scripting.
7. Strong communication and presentation skills.
8. Ability to understand user needs and the overall project environment to establish prioritization of problems and solutions.
9. Demonstrated familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle.
10. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others to solve complex problems.
