Job Purpose:
Promotes and maintains health and wellness by developing fitness plans; providing training.
Duties:
* Assesses fitness by identifying short-term and long-term fitness issues using submax stress test and flexibility, strength, and body composition assessments.
* Develops fitness plans by interpreting assessment results; designing exercise routines; providing nutritional information; explaining equipment.
* Provides personal training by consulting on proper technique; adjusting weights; spotting.
* Presents classes by identifying learning objectives; selecting instructional methodologies; delivering information (weight management, fitness challenges, etc).
* Accomplishes special projects by designing and implementing fitness games and challenges.
* Informs members by publishing newsletter/using communication boards.
* Maintains excellent quality service by greeting members and following organization standards.
* Demonstrates Ownership Mentality by assisting with sales and membership agreements as needed by manager.
* Ensures operation of equipment by following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Provides new members with orientation of equipment and proper use. Conducts orientation tours of facility regularly as described and instructed by manager.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
