Pharmacist Clinical (Pharmacy Cost of Care & Trend Analytics): any Anthem locations in GA, MO, VA, or OH - PS4562

The Pharmacist Clinical is responsible for conducting trend and cost of care analysis in support of the Medicaid business.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides pharmacy trend/spend insights integrating clinical knowledge and diagnostics on specific drivers of trend.
  • Ability to create ad-hoc analyses and reporting of trend nuances.
  • Provide clinical and analytical support in the development of strategies for Pharmacy programs including the development of, ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data); provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Research competitor and other market information to produce comparative reports that detail performance relative to our markets.
  • Supports multiple internal levels of management in the analysis and evaluation of initiatives, projects, and issues.
  • Provide clinical analytical support and expertise to drive clinical strategies for Pharmacy programs; makes necessary recommendations.
  • Prepare regular presentation materials and written reports that summarize findings and outcomes.
  • Clearly and concisely present pharmacy program analytics both orally and in written format.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to develop and enhance reporting using Microsoft Excel, Access, and/or other mediums.
  • Regularly work with partner actuaries in analyzing and understanding future anticipated impacts.
  • Requires a registered pharmacist; 2 years of managed care pharmacy (PBM) experience or residency in lieu of work experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Current valid state license to practice pharmacy as an RPh required, Prefer PharmD
  • Requires strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem solving skills.
  • Requires experience manipulating and processing datasets with proficiency in Excel and/or SQL, SAS, Access, etc.
  • Master's degree in data analysis or pharmaceutical outcomes related discipline is preferred.
