Pharmacist Clinical Sr (Clinical Outcomes and Analytics Pharmacist): National/US - PS3915

The Pharmacist Clinical Sr. is responsible for conducting outcomes data analysis using large claim datasets to support the development of pharmacy programs and clinical strategy to promote quality and cost effective drug use.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs integrated medical & pharmacy outcomes data analysis to inform clinical strategy and promote improved patient outcomes.
  • Assists in developing and analyzing formulary design through comparative effectiveness research.
  • Performs drug utilization analyses.
  • Provides pharmacy trend/spend insights integrating clinical insights and knowledge.
  • Provide clinical analytical support and expertise to drive clinical strategies for Pharmacy programs, makes necessary recommendations.
  • Clearly and concisely present pharmacy program analytics both orally and in written format.
  • Prepare presentation and written reports that synthesize and summarize study findings and outcomes.
  • Produce comparative reports that detail performance relative to other markets.
  • Coordinate with different departments to obtain business requirements and program measurements.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data); provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Taking business issues and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
  • Develop reporting using Microsoft Excel and Access.

  • Requires a registered pharmacist, prefer PharmD and Master's degree in data analysis or pharmaceutical outcomes related discipline is preferred.
  • 4 years of managed care experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Current valid state license to practice pharmacy as an RPh required
  • Requires strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem solving skills.
  • Requires experience manipulating and processing large datasets with proficiency in SQL and/or SAS, Access, and Excel.
  • Recent experience presenting, reporting and evaluating pharmacy or medical programs and trends preferred.
