Integrity Pharmacy Services (IPS) is a privately held Florida Corporation headquartered in Largo, Florida. IPS is an institutional pharmacy provider that is contracted with many long-term care facilities in the Tampa Bay area, including Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco and Hernando counties.
IPS is currently interviewing for the positions of:
- Experienced Pharmacy "Data Entry" Technician
- Experienced / Certified PharmacyTechnician
- Experienced Pharmacy "Medical Records" Technician
Data Entry Technician
Responsibilities:
Triage incoming calls and respond to customers’ needs.
Arrange for pickup and delivery of items via the Internet and telephone.
Assists the Pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy.
Operates data entry devices to perform a variety of data entry and verification duties.
Establish prescription orders and interpret prescriptions including quantity and dosing instructions according to physicians' written requests.
Route orders as dictated by departmental policies and procedures.
Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
Knowledge of QS1 Data Entry System is a plus.
Requirements:
Minimum of one year experience in a retail, hospital or mail order pharmacy setting where primary function was transcribing handwritten medication requests from physicians.
High School Diploma or equivalent
QS1 Experience a plus.
Pharmacy Technician Certificate preferred, but not required.
Ability to accurately calculate dispensing quantity, refills, day’s supply, etc.
Excellent typing skills.
Strong math skills and attention to detail a must.
Pharmacy Technicians
Responsibilities:
Assists the Pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy.
Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system. .
Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments.
Packages medications for dispensing and for delivery.
Sanitizes pharmacy packaging equipment.
Sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood.
Communicates with nursing center personnel and other customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
Route orders as dictated by departmental policies and procedures.
Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
Knowledge of Data Entry and QS1 experience is a plus.
Requirements:
Pharmacy Technician Certificate Required
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one year experience in a retail, hospital or mail order pharmacy setting preferred.
Minimum of one year current IV Experience preferred.
Ability to accurately calculate dispensing quantity, refills, day’s supply, etc.
Strong attention to detail a must.
Medical Records
Responsibilities & Skills will include:
Successful candidates will provide pharmaceutical services to long term care residents in a manner that maximizes quality and patient safety.
Obtains patient medical information for facility charting purposes and enters accurate information into the computer system.
Processes medical records and other reports requested by pharmacy customers in a timely manner.
Maintains pharmacy medical records in an easily retrievable manner.
Communicates with appropriate facility staff to serve their needs.
Prepares daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports as requested.
Ability to lift and move boxes up to 25 lbs
Assists with general office duties, as needed.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medications.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights are protected.
Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
Ability to communicate courteously with customers to research and correct complaints and/or requested changes to forms.
Ability to maintain computer records to reflect up-to-date, accurate information.
Skilled in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.
