Pharmacy Dispensing Technician

Millennium has an opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician in our prescription dispensing operation in Cranberry Township, PA.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician at Millennium performs and supports Millennium Pharmacists and other Millennium employees in the operation of our prescription dispensing operation in Cranberry Township, PA.  Our fulfillment area allows our technicians to work in a highly automated setting ensuring that prescriptions are filled in an accurate and timely manner

Responsibilities:

• Provides accurate prescription fulfillment utilizing manual processes and automation.

• Maintains a positive, professional attitude when dealing with Millennium patients, employees and vendors.

• Assists the customer service team by receiving incoming phone calls from our clients, as required.

• Provides support for the dispensing automation including replenishment and maintenance with a high degree of accuracy.

• Maintains strong knowledge of Millennium policies and procedures and applies them consistently.

•Maintains knowledge of Pharmacy rules and government regulations and maintains compliance at all times.

• May assist in the training of other Pharmacy Technicians and other Millennium employees.

• Assists with quality improvement initiatives.

• Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.

• Orients and mentors new teammates.

• Demonstrates “leadership by example” in projecting a positive attitude, and involvement in Millennium employee activities.

• Perform basic maintenance on automated packaging equipment.

• Replenish canisters in the automated packaging equipment.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required

• Pharmacy Technician Certification in the State of Pennsylvania is preferred, but is not required.

• Basic computer skills are required

• Knowledge or experience with automated dispensing equipment is a major plus.

• Mathematical and computation skills

• Strong work ethic and desire to serve our patients

• Able to work overtime with little or no notice, as needed.

• Attend staff meetings, teleconferences and patient care conferences as needed.

• Ability to lift minimum weight of 35 pounds, and able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, bending, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions.
