Basic Job Description-
Prepare medications and pharmaceutical supplies to complete prescriptions while under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, perform clerical duties to help maintain accurate pharmacy orders, records, and billing. Independent retail pharmacy setting. Hourly wage will be determined based on job skills & experience. Full time position Monday thru Friday 8:30am-5pm as well as some Saturday hours. Primary Responsibilities-

  • Assist pharmacist in opening pharmacy and prepare for daily routine. Start computers, check fax, and check voicemail.

  • Answer phones courteously, route calls to pharmacist as appropriate, or take messages, etc.

  • Greet customers and assist them as necessary, answer customer questions about the pharmacy and services, know current payment and delivery policies.

  • Ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy department by assisting customers and operating the cash register.

  • Accurately transcribe prescription information into the computer system to assure the correct patient, medication, and directions.

  • Process reports as needed for maintenance of profiles and to aid in billing responsibilities.

  • Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.

  • Maintain Pharmacy & OTC inventory.

  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements-

  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years retail Pharmacy Technician experience.

  • HBS (Health Business Systems) software proficiency preferred, but will train otherwise qualified candidates
  • Must have a detailed understanding & ability to process prescriptions.

  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

  • Must be very well-organized and have a keen attention to detail.

  • Good communication skills required.

  • Must submit to a routine background check & potential random drug screenings.
