Welcome and thank you for your interest in employment opportunities with Del Amo Hospital!  Del Amo Hospital is a 166-bed free-standing psychiatric hospital that is located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, in beautiful Southern California.  We currently have a position available for a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician.

Under direct supervision, this position assists the Director of Pharmacy and Staff Pharmacists to compound, fill and dispense pharmaceutical preparations at the hospital pharmacy within the laws, rules and regulations of the State, Federal and Board of Pharmacy agencies. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Receives written prescription or medication orders;
2. Checks each patient order for allergy, height and weight inforamtion, completeness of order, and clinical appropriateness;
3. Provides for teh continuous supply of pharmacy stock;
4. Provides drug information to the Medical Staff, Nursing Staff and Patients.

1. Completion of Pharmacy Technician vocational program required;
2. Must have and maintain valid certification with the State of California Pharmacy Board;
3. Knowledge of basic pharmacy practices, procedures, medications and medical supplies required;
4. Strong mathematical skills and basic understanding of computer technology required.
