Job Location: Smithfield, RI (northern suburb of Providence)

Shift: Rotating shift, M-F and every other weekend

Summary
The Pharmacy Technician at Millennium Pharmacy performs and supports Pharmacists and other employees in the operation of our prescription dispensing operation in Smithfield, RI.  Our fulfillment area allows our technicians to work in an automated setting ensuring that prescriptions are filled in an accurate and timely manner. Job Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Rhode Island is required
• Basic computer and mathematical skills are required
• 2-3 years Pharmacy Technician experience in a retail, hospital, or Long Term Care setting
• Knowledge or experience with automated prescription drug dispensing equipment is a major plus
• IV Experience is strongly preferred
• Strong work ethic and desire to serve our customers and patients

Essential Job Functions
• A strong understanding of, and adherence to, Millennium Pharmacy’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Provides accurate prescription fulfillment utilizing manual processes and automated packaging equipment.
• Maintains a positive, professional attitude when dealing with Millennium Pharmacy’s customers, employees and suppliers.
• Provides support for the dispensing automation including:  drug replenishment, preventative maintenance and cleaning with a high degree of accuracy.
• Maintains strong knowledge of Millennium’s policies and procedures and applies them consistently.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy rules and government regulations and maintains compliance at all times.
• May assist in the training of other Technicians and employees.
• Assists with quality improvement initiatives.
• Orients and mentors new teammates.
• Demonstrates “leadership by example” in projecting a positive attitude, and involvement in Millennium Pharmacy employee activities.

Other Duties as Assigned

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Able to work overtime with little or no notice, as needed.
• Attend staff meetings, teleconferences and patient care conferences as needed.
• Ability to lift minimum weight of 35 pounds, and able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, bending, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions.
• Understand and follow Millennium’s employee policies and procedures.
