The PharMerica Hospital Services team is recruiting a per diem Pharmacy Technician to join our Kindred Pharmacy - South Florida - Hollywood.  Our hospital pharmacy joins a nationwide network of over 700 professionals. We provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients in over 80 specialty hospitals.  We are dedicated to our patients and to our employees. Our pharmacists take a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and are focused on clinical initiatives to optimize positive patient outcomes. Our technicians have an indispensable role in providing necessary support to the pharmacy and its staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists the Pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Types prescription information to produce labels.
  • Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
  • Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
  • Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system.
  • Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments.
  • Packages medications for dispensing and for delivery.
  • Sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood.
  • Communicates with all customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
  • Knowledge of Data Entry and / or IV experience is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification if required by state.
  • One year experience in a hospital setting preferred. 
  • Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.
