QinetiQ North America's Technology Solutions Group is recruiting an Physical Oceanographer

 

The Scientist will focus on research in satellite measured oceanographic data. This individual will be tasked with developing new algorithms and data analysis techniques to extract oceanographic features and specific data types.  The sensors are primarily (but not limited to) microwave sensors.

 

Responsibilities include algorithm development and verification, improvements to data analysis methods, and scientific publication. 

 

 The ideal candidate will have knowledge of current methods of exploitation of satellites to yield oceanographic information and will have experience utilizing custom or commercial off the shelf imaging software (such as MATLAB, NCAR graphics, etc.).

 

MS in Physical Oceanography with 2+ years experience required.  PhD in Oceanography preferred.

 

Experience in meteorological and ocean boundary-layer processes are desired.

 

U.S. citizen with (or ability to obtain) U.S. government Secret security clearance.
