The MD Physician Lead is responsible for using a clinical authoring tool and additional technologies to collaboratively codify clinical rules and implement evidence-based workflows into AIM's systems.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Use a clinical authoring tool and additional technologies to collaboratively codify clinical rules and implement evidence-based workflows
  • Work closely with AIM and client Medical Directors to capture clinical intent of guidelines and medical policies in algorithm design
  • Provide on-going technical and clinical expertise to assure the consistent delivery of clinical knowledge and clinical decision support
  • Create messaging with collaboration from legal and compliance stakeholders
  • Apply clinical information technology and clinical process improvement to support best clinical practices and standardization of care
  • Meet project milestones and objectives, and identify potential risks
  • Using software development life cycle methodology, adhere to best practices in clinical authoring and IT
  • Request and analyze reports to monitor performance of algorithms and identify opportunities for enhancements
  • Create reports and presentations for key stakeholders
  • Engage in mapping of ICD-10, CPT codes
  • In partnership with Reporting and Analytics, use data for predictive analysis and help guide business decisions
  • Work with advanced graphic tools, including dashboards and other visual displays, to
    provide reports that highlight variations in utilization, clinical practice, and clinical outcomes
  • Support research activities through basic reporting functions and analysis

The qualified candidate will have:

  • Active, unrestricted M.D. or D.O. license
  • Board certification approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
  • Familiarity with standard medical coding schemes (ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT-4)
  • Understanding of databases and basic querying
  • Knowledge of, and comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
  • Analytical understanding of clinical work processes
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice preferred
  • Training/certification in informatics a plus
  • Familiarity with clinical decision support, electronic health records and interoperability desirable
  • Listens well and influences decisions through written and verbal communication
  • Lead meetings effectively
