| Physician Assistant Full-Time, Critical Care Neurosurgical Intensive Care Service Washington, DC What you'll be doing: - Aiding physicians with patient work-ups
- Conducting histories and physicals for critical care consults
- Interpreting hemodynamic and mechanical ventilation data
- Acting as a resource to the neurosurgeons and neurosurgical nurses for critical care issues
- Daily rounds with attending intensivist
- Placing arterial and central venous catheters after appropriate certification
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree
- Graduation from an accredited Physician's Assistant program
- PA certification, DC license
- Minimum of 1 year critical care experience
- Knowledge of critical care hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical ventilation/respiratory physiology
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients/families, as well as staff and physicians
- Experience with arterial and central line placement and monitoring
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
