The Physician Assistant under the general supervision of the Director of the Cardiovascular Services and the Supervisor Physician Assistants, assists in the care and management of the coronary care/CVT patient. Clinical supervision of Physician Assistant II is provided by the cardiologists and attending physicians participating in the Units. Coordinates patient and family centered care and nursing services in accordance with the Lifespan and The Miriam Hospital’s mission, vision, values, with consideration of the life span, including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the patients.
Requirements:
Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program with B.S. Degree or its equivalent. Certified or certification eligible by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. Certified in American Heart Association Basic Life Support/Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Successful completion of supervised three month clinical internship or equivalent in clinically intensive atmosphere (hospital) preferable in the area of cardiovascular medicine.
