Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. (OSUP) is a governed multi-specialty group comprised of over 700 physicians affiliated with the Ohio State University Medical Center.


 


We are currently seeking a Physician Assistant – Vascular Surgery to function on the day shift in the Operating Rooms in The Ohio State University East Hospital, the Vascular patient care units, the outpatient clinics, and other patient care areas as needed. The position will experience extended hours and emergent call-in to meet patient needs.


 


This position is responsible for surgical assisting during Vascular surgical procedures, performing histories and physicals, making pre and post operative rounds, placement of catheters, post operative removal of catheters and tubes from patients, assisting in the management of patients in the outpatient clinics, assisting in the training of students and staff, and competing documentation of services, all under the supervision of the vascular surgeons.


 


Qualifications


For Hire:                     


Graduation from an accredited surgical physician assistant program or equivalent combination of education and experience. National Certification Commission for Physician Assistant (NCCPA) certification. Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a surgical physician assistant. On going: Meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.


 


On going:


Maintains NCCPA certification and State licensure as a surgical physician assistant. Maintain continuing educational requirements as routinely required by department and discipline.
