Are you interested in doing steam tunnel utility service work for our company? We are looking for individuals with your experience to start immediately. The work consists of various maintenance and repair tasks associated with the steam distribution system that extends from the US Capitol Power Plant into 5 miles of underground tunnels. This is a full time, long term position that pays 29.00 / hr. This is a full time project that is contract with the Architect of the capitol for at least 5 years.

The work conditions in some areas of the steam tunnels can be very hot and in some locations with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees F. Personal protective equipment is also required in some locations due to the possible exposure to asbestos from insulation on Steam Pipes however since most of the asbestos has been removed, there is a reduced amount of exposure to asbestos. The use of respirators is currently required in some areas and may be eliminated in the near future. Ice vests are sometimes used to regulate personal core temperature to avoid heat stress. Each employee MUST have a clean background without any felonies and also be able to pass a drug screen, physical and background check for a security clearance.
