About the Opportunity:

The Planner/Buyer uses the MRP to plan and procure raw materials needed to support the manufacturing of components and devices. The Planner/Buyer identifies sources, requests bids from, and places orders with approved suppliers. The Planner/Buyer schedules the delivery of goods and services to meet the financial and operations objectives. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:  calculating MRP weekly and analyzing all components and stock requirements to determine parts and raw materials needed; coordinating and scheduling outside services; releasing materials for shipment; managing shipment to facililty; establishing delivery/completion requirements and revising data in the system accordingly; providing data for reporting and analysis; and providing supplier feedback. The Temporary Planner/Buyer will assist with the coordination of special projects being conducted within the Supply Chain Management area of our company.



Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have an undergraduate degree and three to five years of Purchasing/Planning experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. N.A.P.M. or APICS certification is a plus. The incumbent must be familiar with computer based Planning and scheduling systems. This position requires a comfort level in dealing with a wide variety of associates at all levels. Good verbal and written communication skills need to be evident. The person must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced changing environment. Strong negotiation, organization, attention to detail, and excellent follow through skills are required to be effective in this position.
