DRS Power & Control Technologies, Inc., is a leading supplier of high-performance power conversion and instrumentation & control systems for the U.S. Navy’s combatant fleet. Products include ship electric propulsion equipment, power electronics equipment, high-performance networks, shipboard control equipment and control panels, tactical displays and specialty reactor plant instrumentation and control equipment. The Division designs, qualifies and manufactures products that help people every day on the ground, sea and in the air. We operate on a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off. 

Position Summary

Directs the operation of the Planning, Receiving, Inspection, Stockroom, and Shipping functions to support program requirements and overall plant goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support compliance to on-time procurement of commodities for all programs through proper delegation and guidance
• Report regularly to the Supply Chain Manager on key metrics including Cost Savings, Delivery and Quality performance by suppliers, Ideas, Dock to Stock, and others as appropriate
• Attends design review meetings and production meetings to provide all departments with material status and ship order schedules
• Support interaction with key supplier on their current performance, partnership opportunities, future requirements, and methods of improvements
• Benchmark against other world class organizations to improve daily functions
• Guide, cross-train, motivate, recognize, and support the growth of those that directly report to you
• Improve current system, functions, and daily operations to more effectively meet goals
• Work with divisional staff as a team to support the overall business objectives
• Address daily issues in all facets of the departmental functions as needed to meet internal and external customer requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or related disipline required, MBA a plus
• 10 years production planning experience in a manufacuring enviornement
• Knowledge of inspection, purchasing, materials planning, warehousing and shipping principle
• U.S. Citizenship Required

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

• CPM &CPIM certification
• High Energy, Self-Starter, Task Orientated individual, willing to do what it takes to be successful
• Strong People Skills, able to work well with individuals at all levels within the organization
• Good Presentation and Data Organization Skills
• Well versed in MRP, KanBan, Lean Manufacturing
