Plant Controller

Summary:  Direct the plant’s financial activities by controlling and overseeing all plant financial activities for compliance with company policies and accepted accounting principles.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

GENERAL REPORTING

  • Prepare reports which summarize and forecast plant business activity and financial position based on past, present, and expected operations and performance.
  • Direct preparation of budgets, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification
  • Responsible for monthly accounting close process per Moen policy
  • Lead and coordinate the plant’s annual strategic and financial planning process; track actual results against forecast and planned performance
  • Direct monthly and quarterly forecasts that including operating expense budgets, and working capital metrics.
  • Develop routine and ad hoc financial presentations for the plant.

 

 

 

LEAD INTERNAL CONTROL OF FACILITY

  • Responsible for balance sheet control and reconciliations including any external audit evaluation per Moen policy.
  • Oversee facility compliance with internal control policies such as system access, facility access, inventory control, receiving/shipping processes, etc.

 

 

 

SUPPORT QUOTE PROCESS WITH STRATEGY OF BUSINESS ACQUISITION

  • Provide financial support and analysis for all significant projects including strategy development and new business proposals.


PARITICIPATE IN LEADERSHIP OF PLANT HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Actively participate in the Health & Safety Review Board, Safety Sub-committees, and Near Miss Evaluation process


OVERSEE PAYMENT & RECONCILIATION OF SUPPLIER INVOICES

  • Manage cost accounting and direct factory purchasing activities.
  • Manage invoice audit & reconciliation for major contract labor and sorting vendors
     PARTICIPATE IN PLANT OPERATIONAL STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT
  • Contribute to overall strategy and operations as a key member of the management team.
  • Develop, account for, and track cost reduction calculation methodologies related to normal operational improvements as well as regularly scheduled kaizen events
  • Direct and control the plant’s capital budget process.  Oversee the development of capital plans and coordinate/control the capital expenditure process including post-audits per Moen policy.
  • Establish or recommend plant economic strategies, objectives, and policies.
  • Recommend modifications to existing plant polices and procedures.

An undergraduate degree in business/finance/accounting is required. MA/MS/MBA preferred.

Eight plus years of relevant work experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
A successful track record as a manager of a financial group/organization.

Demonstrated experience in:

  • Managing and directing the financial function within an employee involvement setting.
  • Developing and implementing long- and short-term strategic plans.
  • Implementing value-added, cost effective solutions. 
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Must demonstrate a strong balance between effective/efficient financial accounting and forward thinking/strategic managerial accounting.
  • Must be results oriented, energetic, a self-starter

 

Must be a team player with the ability to think conceptually, flexibly and strategically.
