Plant Manager for Structural Steel Fabricator
Jet Industries, LLC is AISC certified for fabrication of Simple and Major Steel bridges.
Our plant offers a 95,000 square foot facility featuring our state of the art 52 foot brake press as well as a 40 foot plasma cutting machine. We are a Manufacture of steel tubular products, generally used in the highway/lighting markets. Product lines include traffic light poles, highway lighting poles and sign structures, as well as other tubular products such as transmission and sports lighting poles. These products are used in various markets, though the majority of our poles are used in applications for various Departments of Transportation across the country.
Job description:
Manages all functions from production scheduling to finished product shipment. Works with foreman to set plant goals for safety, quality and productivity. Collaborates with Quality Control Manager and Estimating/Drafting Manager. Reports to the Director of Operations. Currently has approximately 40 direct reports, with approximately 100 direct reports expected in the next year.
Typical Duties Include:
Select and supervise foreman and plant employees. Performance reviews of foreman and monitors performance of all plant employees.
Conducts planning meetings for project kick-offs, holds daily foreman meetings, handles any process (re)evaluation meetings, participates in safety team meetings.
Fine tunes manufacturing processes and finds solutions for process adjustments.
Investigates options and puts proposals together for equipment or plant upgrade needs.
Ensures accurate time cards and daily reports are submitted by foreman, which ensures proper costing when compared to bid.
Consistently implement Company policies and procedures.
Advises Director of Operations regarding manning goals for plant and ensures efforts are made to meet projections.
Works with Quality Control department to resolve quality concerns.
Works with Estimating to ensure bid productions and actual plant productions are aligned.
Communicates with various staff members on incoming material deliveries, programming for CNC machines, project concerns, and final product delivery.
Required:
Ability to schedule day-to-day activities, plan for future activities and coordinate these efforts with the foreman while meeting the project delivery requirements.
Considerable knowledge in all areas of manufacturing and material handling.
Ability to lead, challenge and grow the team.
Strong numerical/mathematical skills.
Good Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Scheduling.
Considerable supervisory experience managing multiple areas within a manufacturing facility.
Prefer:
Welding and fitting hands-on experience and experience fabricating structural steel.
