Rocky Top Wood Preservers/Rocky Top Building Products, Inc, a pressure treating manufacturer and building products distributor, seeks a successful individual to fill the role of Plant Manager in our Hagerstown, MD; Fombell, PA; and Rocky Mount, VA, facilities.

Individual will be involved in all aspects of managing the treating facility, including: production, shipping and receiving, safety, quality, cost management, efficiency, etc.  This is a “hands-on” position requiring management ability and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be able to:

·         Plan daily production including treatment, stock rotation, stacking, and shipping

·         Ensure that the plant processes run efficiently and cost effectively.

·         Communicate with supervisors to prioritize production needs.

·         Supervise all plant employees.

·         Analyze, coordinate, and organize plant operations and procedures to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery 

·         Monitors the quality of all production processes, with emphasis on the treating process.

·         Ensure plant cleanliness.

·         Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local laws and regulations, and Company programs, policies and procedures.

·         Ensure plant property and equipment is properly maintained, and order parts and equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

 ·        A college degree and two-three years of related experience, or a minimum of five years of related experience.

·         Planning, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.

·         Familiarity with plant and fork lift maintenance is a plus, as well as forklift operating ability.

Experience in the lumber industry is a plus, particularly experience in a pressure treating facility.

Rocky Top Wood Preservers/Rocky Top Building Products, Inc is a privately owned company headquartered in Rocky Mount, VA.  Production facilities are located in Rocky Mount, VA; Hagerstown, MD; and Fombell, PA.  Dimension lumber (2x4s, 2x6s, 4x4s, etc.) is purchased from various lumber mills and treated using a vacuum and pressure process to apply water-borne chemicals, which protect the wood from deterioration due to fungus and insects.
