Summary:

Develops and administers plans and programs to meet production requirements by establishing operating objectives and recommending staffing and facility requirements. Operates in accordance with division policies, approved marketing forecasts, quality requirements and approved budgets.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for personal commitment to safety and housekeeping and for directing the training of each employee under his/her supervision which will reflect the commitment to working toward an injury free environment. This includes machine guarding, maintenance and elimination of unsafe acts.
  • Develops and administers plans and programs to meet production requirements by establishing operating objectives and recommending staffing and facility requirements. Operates in accordance with division policies, approved marketing forecasts, quality requirements and approved budgets.
  • In accordance with performance management principles, analyzes operational costs, investigates significant variances, plans corrective actions and keeps production management fully informed of actions taken. Uses fact based team problem solving techniques to identify and solve problems.
  • Responsible for continuously improving production/plant operations and ensures there is an ongoing program to control and reduce cost, improve quality, morale and operating efficiency.
  • Maintains a strong customer focus and improves customer relationships through personal visits or staff visits to customer locations. Collaborates with Material Supply/Planning & Control team members to ensure meeting marketing requirements
  • Maintains a strong internal customer focus by cooperating with other departments, divisions and support groups. Obtains help in specialized areas such as human resources, technology and accounting as necessary.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective communications program. Communicates plant mission and results and provides customer feedback to all team members.
  • Is a critical link in both downward and upward communications.
  • Controls raw materials and maintains inventories at an economical level. Ensures accurate accounting, interpretation and reporting of results.
  • Being a role model for performance management practices, maintains high levels of team member performance and morale through ongoing monitoring, coaching, guidance and continuous feedback. Instills pride in each team member by providing each person a sense of ownership and authority to act on their jobs.
  • Protects assets, confidential and restricted information, developments, specifications, materials, legal obligations and other such data in contracts with competitors, vendors and others.
Required Education:
 
Associate Degree

Required Experience:

Two years

* Candidates must have recycling experience or have run a logistics/ trucking operation.
