About the Job

What you will do
This position plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials and products by performing the following duties.

Location: Grantley Plant in York, PA
Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment
Vacation: Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation per calendar year

How you will do it
1. Manages both weld/machine shop inspectors. Provides work scope guidance and deals with personnel issues related to the inspector job classification. Works closely with Production supervision to ensure customer commitments are met.
2. Provides communication to inspectors/production personal on customer issues.
3. Works to ensure the product quality system in production is in compliance with ISO 9001.
4. Works with the Quality engineer and may participate in the review of design, manufacturing, purchasing and test documentation to ensure that the design and customer’s requirements can be met on assigned products within the production environment.
5. Works closely with production and may help coordinate warranty support activities to include manufacturing of parts and/or use of internal labor to perform warranty work including warranty tracking process and corrective actions.
6. Works closely with the Quality Engineer to develop systems and procedures to clarify engineering and quality work instructions and requirements.
7. Performs quality-engineering reviews of manufacturing/quality documentation for compliance with design requirements.
8. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
9. Participates as required in the High Performance Work Teams to resolve quality issues.
10. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
11. Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
12. Coordinates and Manages Material Review Board activities to resolve quality issues.
13. Other duties may be assigned.

How you will do it

1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combined education and experience.
2. A minimum of five years related experience including supervisory experience.
3. Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including email and Microsoft Office software.
4. Demonstrated planning, problem solving, data analysis, GD&T, blueprint reading, organizing, inter-personal, and communication skills with proven leadership skills and decision making abilities.
5. Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures, production methods (including machining and welding), shop standards, team building, SPC and modern quality assurance applications.

1. Experience managing teams of quality inspectors
2. Experience working with MIL-Specs (military specifications)
