PLANT TECHNICIAN
Wholly-owned by Brookfield Asset Management Inc., Brookfield Renewable Power has a portfolio of more than 160 generating facilities with over 4,000 MWs of capacity.
For our Twin Cities Generating Station, located in Minneapolis-MN, we need a Plant Technician to repair station hydraulic, electrical and control systems; work with contracted preventive maintenance crews to improve unit availability/station uptime; monitor/report on equipment quality issues from disassembly to commissioning; and perform station operations, general maintenance, electrical/ mechanical maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, millwrighting, welding, pipefitting, and repairing/ installing systems and equipment.
You must be available for after hour "call-ins" and able to perform skilled work related to electrical/ mechanical fields; work as a Control Room Operator; read/understand electrical, hydraulic and mechanical drawings and schematics; and utilize Outlook/Word/Excel/Access. A two year degree in electrical/mechanical technology, related apprenticeship program, or equivalent experience should accompany experience with repair and maintenance of hydro turbine/generator systems and related equipment; high voltage transmissions; and related mechanical and electrical OSHA safety standards.
