Plastic Design Engineer

We are currently recruiting for candidates with 10 years of experience in plastic design with extensive use of Pro-Engineer.

 

The successful candidate will provide fundamental engineering support to develop initial design concepts through proto-typing and production release. This individual will interface directly with R&D, Manufacturing and external vendors to resolve design and fabrication issues.

 

Duties:

·         Develop initial concepts of complex plastic injected molded products.

·         Create a surface “master model” of complex form to capture the industrial design process utilizing Pro-Engineer – Wildfire 4.0

·         Generate complex system packaging layouts using Top Down Design (TDD) methodologies.

·         Generate detailed fabrication drawings per Global DRM and ASME Y-14M with extensive knowledge of GD&T application

·         Perform part mold ability check which includes draft check, uniform wall thickness, rib and boss cross-section,  insert hole construction and surface quality

·         Perform complex  interference fit checks and tolerance analysis on large assembly

·         Oversee the development of prototyping and manufacturing processes and interface with vendor to resolve issues.

·         Provide technical input regarding: SLA process, Urethane castings and Injection Mold Tooling

·         Proficient in Pro-Engineer modules (Pro-Surface and ISDX, All Foundation modules and Adv Assembly Ext, Detail and Pro-Report)

·         Utilize Windchill PDMLink is highly desirable

 

Requires a BSME and 7+ years of applicable experience.
