We are presently seeking a qualified Area Manager for opportunities in our system as we prepare to expand into new markets.
PLATINUM CORRAL; Multi-unit franchise operator of GOLDEN CORRAL Buffet/Grill restaurants. We have averaged an annual 20% growth factor since our inception in 1996. We are one of the largest franchisees in a dynamic company, operating 23 units in six states (NC, SC, WV, VA, OH, KY), with plans to accelerate our growth. AREA MANAGERS: You will be fully accountable for all operational and financial results for the units under your supervision. Total responsibility for people development, sales growth, hospitality, cost controls, facilites, equipment, and strict compliance to all Golden Corral standards executed to Platinum expectations is the short description of the role. You will undergo an intensive and structured 120 day training program, then operate a unit as a GM for at least six to twelve months to demonstrate competence, and to insure your success and our future.
QUALITY OF LIFE; We offer a relocation package. We offer BCBS individual or family HSA & Health Insurance coverage-plus Life, Dental, Vision, and Disability, with Platinum paying 2/3 of the premiums, plus a partial match of your Health Savings Account contributions. Our Vacation Plan allows all salaried managers a paid week off each quarter, or four weeks off per year (three weeks in your first year!). Executive Management schedules will consist of a 6-day work week, with office time alloted.
COMPENSATION; Annual incomes of our AM's rise to the $115k range. We offer a 401K after one month, with Platinum partial match after one year. Performance Bonus is paid every four weeks calculated as a percent of net Sales and a percent of Contollable Income; our bonus plan has remained unchanged for 11 years; no trap doors, no gimmicks; just straight percentages of sales and controllable income. Quarterly bonus paid based on CSQ, Sanitation audit, Guest Feedback and Coworker turnover results, by unit. All business expenses are reimbursed, including milege; there is an auto allowance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Stable job history (no gaps)
- No more than three (3) jobs in last six (6) years
- A visible career path in industry, not in and out of the business
- Have been a General Manager/Multi-Unit Manager of a high guest count operation for a minimum of the last three (3) years
- Ideal candidate will have extensive Golden Corral or identical experience. We prefer experience in Family dinning, Cafeteria, or Buffet segments
- Ability to pass a rigorous background check and drug screen
- Ability to travel on a regular basis, often at length
- Must be willing to relocate for the opportunity
- Must be self motivated and thrive under pressure

Must be able top work approximately 70 hours per week., including evenings and weekends.
Position requires standing and walking for periods of 2-5 hours without a rest break, and task sequencing with the completion of complex administrative responsibilities. Frequent heavy lifting (in excess of 35 lbs.+) carrying, bending, and reaching overhead will be required. Work envirinment entails heavy customer contact, working with cooking equipment and slippery walk surfaces. Position is under minimal leveals of day to day supervision.
Candidates must be able to complete rigorous 120 day training program, sequentially testing out of each segment to advance. Training consists of hands on learning in tasks & recipes, demonstration of leadership & people skills, comprehension of systems & tools for controlling costs, ability to execute daily & weekly & monthly administration to include budgets, P&L's, orders & build-to's, schedules & labor plans, payroll & invoice posting, to name a few.
The successful Area Manager candidate will have extensive Golden Corral experience as a GM or higher, or identical experience in a similar environment. Strong people and leadership skills are critcal, and the ability to administer daily, weekly and monthly numbers for several units. Self driven with the ability to thrive under pressure are a must. Must be able to travel extensively with overnight visits a routine.
