Job Description
As project manager, you will be responsible for large, complex, multi-million dollar, and multi-year projects associated with our client’s 10 year plan. You will manage a defined program of distribution system projects for which engineering and/or construction may be provided principally by external resources (contractors and consultants). You will participate in the development and implementation of project management process improvements across the company. You will manage infrastructure projects that must be maintained and renovated at the same time. In this role, you will also provide project management, coaching, and mentoring to project team members and may serve as project manager for other large, complex projects or programs.
Required Skills and Experiences:
Strong experience in Pre-Project work
- Initiation- Conduct studies before building a business case.
- Planning-Pre Project-Needs assessment, analysis, solution. Develop a charter.
- Execution-Obtaining permits.
- Control.
- Closing.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Extensive experience with Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering is preferred
- Ability to interact and communicate with many different types of associates (Must be able to develop a presentation and present to the CEO and all Sr. management.)
- Diverse project background. Will be juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience with all nine knowledge areas of Project Management as established in PMBOK guide
- Must have ten years of related technical and project management experience
- Demonstrated project management effectiveness leading cross-functional teams to complete electrical engineering and/or construction projects.
- Experience and proficiency in the use of project management information systems and planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Strong and effective communication skills.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
- Utility experience is a plus.
