Background information-- The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has critically important Polygraph Examiner positions for individuals who are qualified for these outstanding employment opportunities.
DIA is a Department of Defense combat support agency and an important member of the United States Intelligence Community. DIA provides military intelligence to warfighters, defense policymakers and force planners in the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Its vital intelligence work supports U.S. military planning and operations and weapon systems acquisition.
Required Experience: Qualified Polygraph Examiner candidates are at least 25 years of age and have a minimum of two years of law enforcement, investigative, or intelligence experience as well as a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Candidates undergo a DIA-administered battery of psychological and aptitude tests, and are mindful of the challenges that await them. Candidates for DIA certification must be graduates of the Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment (DACA) or have graduated from an equivalent federally approved course. Additionally, candidates must:
- Be eligible for Top Secret clearance based on a favorable background investigation.
- Be qualified for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
- Successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
- Successfully complete an internship program lasting no less than six months following completion of initial DACA training.
- Be available to serve anywhere in the world.
- Be ready to travel worldwide on short notice, independently or as part of a team.
- Be able to serve in combat or high-threat environments.
- Successfully complete specialized operational training.
- Engage effectively in the full range of intelligence operations.
