For more than two centuries, the colonial town of Smithfield, Virginia, founded in 1752, has been shipping the finest hams to satisfied customers around the world. Pork Processing Meat Superintendent

You will be responsible for the strategic planning and daily activities Bacon, Cure, Smokehouse and Dry Salt departments to achieve maximum productivity, labor, yield, quality and safe work environment standards.  You will communicate with plant manager and supervisors on operational issues, make decisions regarding production, coordinate and oversee all areas of  responsibility.  In addition, you will take the lead role to achieve continued improvements within assigned departments, maintain positive employee relations, promote employee welfare and plant safety, using your direct report to achieve these goals.   


Job Requirements:

4 year degree in Foods Science or Manufacturing preferred
Maximum  of 5 years progressive food processing experience
Knowledge of HACCP and USDA regulations
Execellent communication skills
Knowledge of Continuous Inprovement
Must possess excellent problem solving /decision making skills
Excellent teamwork and leadership qualities
Must have bacon Slice processing experience
